Bengaluru: 3 women killed, 5 hurt as goods auto topples
Bengaluru: Three women were killed on the spot, while five others injured when a goods auto toppled near Thindlu Gate in Sarjapura police limits on Monday evening.The deceased have been identified as Puttamma, 55, Radhamma, 40, and Yellamma, 40. Five other injured are undergoing treatment at a hospital. The condition of one of them is said to be critical. All deceased and injured were residents of Tyavakkanahalli near Sarjapura and were labourers.
The police said that they had gone to harvest coriander leaves grown at a farm near Sarjapur. They were returning home in the evening in the goods auto which toppled near Thindlu Gate. “The reason for the accident is not yet known as the driver has escaped from the spot. We are investigating whether it was a case of rash driving or the driver lost control trying to avoid another vehicle,” the Sarjapur police said.
