Navy chief Admiral Sunil Lanba on a 2-day visit to Visakhapatnam

The CNS was received by Vice Admiral Karambir Singh, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ENC at INS Dega.

Visakhapatnam: Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Sunil Lanba arrived in Vizag on Saturday on a two-day visit to the Eastern Naval Command (ENC).
The CNS was received by Vice Admiral Karambir Singh, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ENC at INS Dega. During the visit, Admiral Lanba addressed the officers and sailors of naval units at Visakhapatnam.

He emphasised the need for ships, submarines and air squadrons to be combat ready at all times and called upon all men and women to be alive to the fact that being the largest maritime power in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), the mantle of being the Net Security Provider in the Indian Ocean fell upon the Indian Navy.

Later, the CNS visited INS Kalinga and INS Karna and was briefed on the activities of these units. The CNS is scheduled to preside over the governing council meeting and annual general body meeting (AGM) of the Navy Foundation (NF) on Sunday prior to his departure from Vizag.

The meeting will be attended by presidents/ secretaries from the fifteen chapters of the Navy Foundation from across the country and the Controller of Personnel Services from Integrated Headquarters of MoD (Navy).
