Kochi: Veteran CPM leader M.M. Lawrence castigated party politburo member M.A. Baby for his comments that party leaders should change their lifestyle following the Tripura debacle. Speaking to reporters in Kochi on Saturday, Mr Lawrence said Mr Baby should clarify the defects in leaders’ lifestyle that led to the alienation of the people from the party.
Mr Lawrence said that a responsible leader like Baby should not have made such comments. Mr Lawrence also said that it needed to be examined whether the comments made Mr Baby represents a breach of the party discipline. Commenting on the electoral debacle in Tripura, Mr Baby had told some reporters that the party needed to do a serious introspection on its activities, including the lifestyles of its leaders.
