The central police have already sought expert opinion from the advocate-general in registering an FIR against the cardinal.

Kochi: Shine Varghese, who has petitioned the High Court against Cardinal Mar George Alencherry in the controversial land deal in Ernakulam – Angamaly archdiocese, will again approach the court seeking action against the police for failing to comply with its order. A single bench of Justice Kemal Pasha had ordered the Ernakulam central police to register a case against the cardinal, but the police are yet to take any action. The central police have already sought expert opinion from the advocate-general in registering an FIR against the cardinal. Based on the legal opinion, the police will finalise the sections of the IPC under which the FIR will be registered.
