Hyderabad's vehicle dump turns blooming rose garden
HYDERABAD: Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin along with Khairtabad MLA Chinthala Ramchandra Reddy on Saturday inaugurated the city’s first Rose Garden as part of the junction beautification programme. An open land, which was once used for dumping seized vehicles at old Saifabad police station in Lakdikapool, has now been transformed into a rose garden.
This move comes after the Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao directed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to develop the land into a green park. Accordingly, the land which was an eyesore in the locality has now been developed into a rose garden. After the old police station was demolished, an Annapurna Rs 5-meal-centre was being operated at the location.
After examining different plans, KCR approved the plan to develop a rose garden with a riot of different coloured flowers. The garden also houses a water fountain, which resembles a rose said a senior official from GHMC. The rose cascade and fountain has been constructed with changing colour lights. The entire area has been beautified with different seasonal flowers. The rose garden, including the lights and the fountain, have been developed at a cost of Rs 30 lakh.
