KANNUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday launched the mobile app ‘WeAreKannur’, devised by district collector Mir Muhammed Ali to connect all the government offices and organisations in the district. The launch was held at Kannur government guest house. The location, place, picture and phone number of the offices and organisations can be availed through the app. The event was also attended by K.K. Ragesh MP. The app includes 1,300 schools, Akshaya centres, distance to each office, their working hours etc. The public can also rate their functioning using the app. Collector can review the performance through this rating.
The app also provides a feature to donate to the old age homes and orphanages in the district directly. In cases of emergency, notices and announcements can be made through this app. The user can also dial directly to the mobile numbers provided in the app. It was developed by the district administration in cooperation with the district e governance centre. The nodal agency to collect information regarding the offices is district wing of the State IT Mission.
