18 IPS officers transferred by Karnataka government

The transfer order was issued late on Friday night in concurrence with the Election Commission of India.

BENGALURU: The state government on Friday transferred as many as 18 IPS rank officers ahead of the Assembly election due in May. The transfer order was issued late on Friday night in concurrence with the Election Commission of India.

Mr B. Dayananda has been posted as Inspector General of Police, Central Range, as Amrit Paul who was holding this post has been transferred to IGP, Administration, Bengaluru.

Soumendu Mukherjee, who was IGP and Additional Director, Fire Services, Bengaluru, has been transferred to Southern Range, Mysuru, as IGP, while S. Ravi who was IGP and Director, Security and Vigilance, KSRTC, Bengaluru, has been given IGP, Ballari Range.

Mr M.N. Anucheth, DCP (West), Bengaluru, has been posted as SP, Criminal Investigation Department (CID). He will, however, as the investigation officer of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the murder of activist and journalist Gauri Lankesh as additional charge.

Mr Umesh Kumar has been transferred and posted as IGP and Secretary to government, Home Department (PCAS), Bengaluru, Vipul Kumar is posted as IGP and Director, Karnataka Police Academy, Mysuru, N Shivaprasad as IGP and Director, Security and Vigilance, KSRTC, Bengaluru, Amit Singh as SP, Mysuru district, Ravi D. Channannavar as DCP (West), Bengaluru, Kuldeep Kumar R. Jain as Commandant, 9th Battalion, Karnataka State Reserve Police, Bengaluru, Nikham Prakash Amrit as SP, Vijayapura.

Dr Bheemashankar S. Guled has been posted as SP, Bengaluru Rural District, G. Radhika as SP, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Dr. Anoop A. Shetty as SP, Intelligence, Bengaluru, Renuka K. Sukumar as SP, Koppal district, S. Girish as SP, Mandya district and Kala Krishnamurthy as DCP (North-East), Bengaluru.
