YSRC to corner defectors through no trust motion
Hyderabad: The YSR Congress on Thursday gave a notice of no-confidence motion against the TD government, accusing it of adopting anti-people policies and growing corruption, and failing to implement its poll promises.
AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao allowed the motion and said that a decision will be taken on March 14 on when to take up discussion on it.
The move is being seen as an attempt to corner MLAs who had recently defected from the YSRC to the TD.
YSRC MLA Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao said, “We have given the notice to Assembly secretary and hope that it will come up for discussion soon. With the Whip in force, we will see who the defectors will vote for.”
He alleged that the government has lost the moral right to rule as it has gone back on all the poll promises. Loans of farmers and DWACRA women haven’t been waived, youth not given jobs nor unemployment stipend paid.
Besides, the number of pensioners has been reduced, many scams have unfolded. There is large-scale corruption and irregularities in the capital area region.
He accused the TD of failing to get special status and other assurances given in the State Reorganisation Act despite being a partner in the NDA.
