KOZHIKODE: India’s champion athlete P. T. Usha has alleged vested interests and political motivations over land allocation row here on Thursday. The sprint queen denied that the government had allocated school ground to her for constructing a house in the city.
“The land allotted by the government is a different one. I have no idea why there should be a row over the land. I had applied for land in 2002 under a scheme of government to allocate land to sports persons in the state. The land, according to the survey number and the sketches by the village officer, is an unused plot near the hostel of the polytechnic and is no way connected to the school ground," Ms Usha said. “Anyone who has doubt about the land allocation can go to the village office and check it. The survey number is TS.1/23/961/1.”
