India Post ATM launched in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam: Post offices providing ATM services would prove to be a good move, said district collector Dr N. Yuvraj. Mr Yuvraj inaugurated the newly established ATM machine at the Velampeta post office on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Yuvraj said, “Post offices extending the ATM services through its branches all over the country would definitely help the villagers who are far away from these services.”
Post Master General, Visakhapatnam region, Sampath, said that they first launched the ATM services in Vijayawada and now extended it to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
“Visakhapatnam region has 16 head post offices and 396 sub-post-offices. In a phased manner, we would provide ATM services at all these post offices. By interlinking with the banking services, we would add more services to our portfolio,” he added.
Superintendent of post office, K.L.N. Murthy, head post master, DN Reddy and others were present.
