Vijayawada: Students launch 1 lakh postcard campaign

The cards would be sent to the PM seeking justice to AP.

Vijayawada: The youth in Vijayawada have decided to post at least 1 lakh postcards to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to do justice to Andhra Pradesh. "The injustice meted out to the state in Budget 2018-19 had led us to start this 1 lakh post card campaign. We intend to write to our beloved PM and Union finance minister that we have immense faith and belief in the Constitution and Parliament of this country, despite the undemocratic division of Andhra Pradesh in the Parliament. We, the people of Andhra Pradesh, have some faith in the political class of this country that they will do justice to AP. The then Prime Minister and leaders of the Opposition made promises to the people of Andhra Pradesh that they will do everything for the development of AP. Today, after 4 years, we only hear excuses and unfulfilled promises," said founder of 'Vijayawada Needs U' (VnU) Sravan Kilaru. He said that with a lot of agony and pain, they are launching this campaign.

"This is not the first time that the people in Delhi did not grant AP what was promised. This has been going on for the last 4 years with various issues, including special package, capital development fund, railway zone, steel plant, proper funding for educational institutions and it is quite depressing. It is important that we raise voice against injustice and send a clear message to the governments that injustice incidents won't be tolerated. VnU is fighting for the hope, dreams and future of 5 crore people of this state," he added.
