Hyderabad: Building material park planned

The government is exploring four locations around Hyderabad in Rangareddy district or Medchal for the unit.

Hyderabad: UAE-based KEF Holdings and KEF Infra will set up an offsite manufacturing plant in Telangana with an investment of Rs 650 crore.

KEF makes prefabricated components and fittings for buildings. The proposed park, spread over 250 acres, is expected to create about 10,000 jobs. The government is exploring four locations around Hyderabad in Rangareddy district or Medchal for the unit.

IT Minister, K.T. Rama Rao said, “The building material park is the first of its kind in India. KFW will anchor the park and attract ancillary industries. Telangana government will provide the land and infrastructure and train local youth for employment in the proposed park.”

Faizal E. Kottikollon, founder and chairman of KEF said, “Telangana is the first state where we are going into a joint venture. Hyderabad is an intellectual capital... where we will have a sophisticated manufacturing park for building material. Construction can take place very quickly with prefabricated structures which are assembled at one place.”
