Revanth says builder's defamation charge false
Hyderabad: TS Telugu Desam MLA A. Revanth Reddy, who is the main accused in the cash-for-vote scam, on Tuesday appeared before a city court in connection with the defamation suit filed against him by ‘My Home’ Group chairman Jupally Rameshwar Rao. The court adjourned the hearing to February 3.
Mr Revanth Reddy, who appeared before the XVIII Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, in his reply to a question by the prosecution, said that all allegations against him were false.
Mr Rameswar Rao had slapped a Rs 90 crore defamation suit against Mr Revanth Reddy in 2014 for allegedly “damaging” his reputation by levelling serious allegations against him and the state government.
While Mr Rameswar Rao alleged that Mr Revanth Reddy’s allegations were baseless, the MLA had been accusing Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of favouring the builder in securing the land that was allotted to Metro Rail and the Gaming City project originally allotted to DLF. Mr Revanth Reddy had released a few documents in 2014 to support his allegations.
