Nellore: Union minister for home affairs Rajnath Singh offered prayers at Tirumala temple on Tuesday morning. Earlier, on his arrival at Mahadwaram, he was accorded warm reception. He was briefed about the importance of Lord Venkateswara, His manifestation and the jewels adorned to him by the priests of the temple inside the sanctum sanctorum.
Later, he was rendered Vedasirvachanam by the vedic scholars in Ranganayakula mandapam. Then he was offered teertha prasadams and presented with a lamination photo of Lord Venkateswara by Tirumala JEO K.S. Sreenivasa Raju. Mr Singh lauded the efforts of the TTD in incident-free crowd management and also in providing amenities to the large number of pilgrims. TTD Trust Board members D.P. Anantha, G. Bhanuprakash Reddy, Urban SP Jayalakshmi, Dy EOs Rama Rao, Haridra-nath, OSD Lakshmi-narayana Yadav were present.
