Hyderabad: A Naval Band Concert and the Navy Day Reception were organised at the lawns of the Navy House at Bolarum, Secunderabad as part of the Navy Day celebrations on Saturday.
The concert was organised under the aegis of The Headquarters Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam, and was hosted by Rear Admiral D.S. Chouhan on behalf of the Naval fraternity in Hyderabad, said sources.
Several posters and replicas of Indian Navy ships were put on display on the lawns with the theme “Indian Navy - Mission Deployed and Combat-Ready”.
The Navy Day is celebrated on December 4 every year to commemorate the force’s success in Operation Trident which led to India’s victory over Pakistan in 1971.
The programme was attended by serving Flag Officers stationed at Hyderabad and Secunderabad, serving officers of station, Heads of Defence Establishments and DRDO laboratories, veteran officers of all three services, senior government officials and representatives from Industry.
