Hyderabad: Several places in the capital are dotted with hoardings of portraits and information about leading personalities who contributed to Telugu language and literature. Such billboards are already in place at Tank Bund and the Secretariat. According to officials, many more such hoardings will be installed in 90 locations, including Khairatabad-Raj Bhavan Road, Patny Centre, RP Road, Jubilee Hills Checkpost, HiTech City, Kondapur X Road, Bowenpally, Osmania University, Masab Tank, Shamshabad airport, Uppal, LB Nagar, Hayathnagar, Tarnaka, etc..
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority has been tasked with responsibility of putting up the hoardings. Each hoarding, each of which will enlighten citizens about one acclaimed personality who contributed to the Telugu language and culture. Some of the names finalised are: Vemana, Annamacharya, Sri Sri, Bhagyareddy Varma, Gurajada Appa Rao, Dasarathi Rangacharya, Kaloji Narayana Rao, C. Narayana Reddy, among others.
