Hyderabad: While the IT minister K.T. Rama Rao is relentlessly promoting “Handloom Monday,” Facilities Management Council (FMC) Telangana on Saturday cycled in the IT area to create awareness among software employees. About 100 members cycled for 5km from DLF at Gachibowli to Tech Mahindra office at Madhapur.
FMC announced that it has been working towards propagating “Handloom Monday” in the IT Industry. Mr Satyanarayana Mathala, President of FMC said, “Nearly four lakh people work in the IT Industry in the city. And if some of them start wearing Handloom clothes at least one day in a week, it will give a great boost to the sector.” He said that IT employees should do their bit to encourage and support to uplift handloom industry to restore its lost glory.
