Hyderabad: Special CBI court on Friday granted a regular bail to IAS officer Y. Srilaxmi, who was accused in an illegal mining cases. Ms Srilaxmi was appointed as appointed secretary, public enterprises of Telangana in October 2016.
The court granted the regular bail to her and asked her to furnish a surety worth Rs 2 lakh. The 1988 batch IAS officer was arrested for flouting norms in granting mining leases to OMC owned by Gali Janardhan Reddy during the Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy government. She was suspended after the arrest. Despite repeated requests, the court had rejected her bail petitions. She got an interim bail recently due to her health concerns.
Sources said Ms Srilaxmi applied for the regular bail as she feared that her interim bail granted on health grounds will be challenged on grounds of her being posted as an officer despite ill-health.
