BJP hits out at Rahul Gandhi for quake' remark
Chennai: The state unit of the BJP has lashed out at Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi for warning of “earthquake” if he was allowed to speak on demonetisation in the Parliament and dared him to speak without “quaking.”
“Rahul is saying that if he is allowed to talk on demonetisation, it will create earth quake. Let us see whether he can talk without leg quake,” BJP state president Dr Tamilisai Soundrajan said. The senior BJP leader who returned to city after attending the wedding reception of Union Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari’s daughter in the national capital, took strong exception to Rahul Gandhi for attempting to criticise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s surgical strike on demonetisation.
Earlier in the day, Rahul warned of ‘earthquake’ if he speaks on demonetisation in Parliament and claimed that the demonetisation was the biggest scam in the history of India. “I want to speak in Lok Sabha. I will tell everything there,” he had said in the national capital.
While the state BJP had launched campaigns supporting demonitisation, the party suffered an embarrassment when IT officials recovered '18.5 lakhs in cash in new currencies from the party functionary Arun Kumar who was in-charge of Salem district youth wing unit on Nov. 28. He was expelled from party two days later.
