TTD cancels privileged darshan for smooth Brahmotsavams

Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is all set to host the annual Navaratri Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara from October 15 to 23. To accommodate the anticipated surge in pilgrims, the TTD has resolved to cancel all formats of special and privileged darshans and implement only 'sarva darshan' during the nine-day celebrations to ensure a hassle-free darshan experience for common devotees.

Addressing the media along with collector K. Venkataramana Reddy and superintendent of police P. Parameswara Reddy at Tirumala on Tuesday, TTD executive officer A.V. Dharma Reddy said that the TTD was committed to providing a smooth and satisfying ‘Srivari Darshan’ for all pilgrims. “Comprehensive preparations have been made across all departments to guarantee a comfortable darshan experience for common devotees”, he added.

The Navaratri Brahmotsavams will feature several significant events, including Garuda Vahana Seva on October 19, Pushpaka Vimanam on October 20, the Golden Chariot festival on October 22 and Chakra Snana Mahotsavam on October 23. Vahana Sevas will be held every day from 8 am to 10 am and Vahana Sevas from 7 pm to 9 pm. Notably, Dhwajarohanam events will not be performed during the second Brahmotsavam.

The EO stated that the cancellation of privileged darshans extends to VIP breaks, infant darshans, darshans for NRIs, defence personnel, senior citizens and physically handicapped persons. Additionally, Arjita Sevas such as Astadala Padmaradhana, Unjal Seva, Tiruppavada, Kalyanotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Sevas will also be cancelled.

In the interest of devotees’ safety, two-wheelers will not be allowed on the twin ghat roads ahead of the Garuda Seva Vahana on October 19. Reddy added, “As devotees throng Tirumala on the eve of the beginning of Brahmotsavams to witness Sevas in the galleries of four mada streets, we are contemplating on advancing the Vahana Seva on October 19 by consulting with the chief priests of the Tirumala temple".

Collector Venkataramana and SP Parameswara Reddy told the media that their respective departments were fully prepared to provide the necessary manpower and support to TTD for the smooth conduct of the annual affair. JEOs Sada Bhargavi and V. Veerabrahmam, CVSO D. Narasimha Kishore, CE Nageswara Rao, and other officials of TTD, district administration, police and RTC departments were present.
