Ex-cadre lashes out at party

The top-cadre failed to take care of the cadre who were committed to the party and ignored many who contributed a lot for the party.

Hyderabad: Leadership crisis, failure in the recruitment of new cadre and self-centred top leaders have made the party fail in making a comeback, said Koti Purushotham, a regional committee member of the CPI (Maoist) party. Purushotham, along with his wife Vinodhini, surrendered before the city police on Tuesday.

Alleging the failure of the top leaders of the party, including Akkiraju Haragopal alias Ramakrishna and Ganapthi, the central committee members, Purushotham said, “The top-cadre failed to take care of the cadre who were committed to the party and ignored many who contributed a lot for the party.”

Coming out strongly against Ramakrishna and Ganapathi, Purushotham said, “Even though I am a committed cadre, the party failed to use me appropriately and ignored my contribution. I wrote at least a 1,000 letters to the central committee to give me and my wife some work so that we can contribute to the party’s betterment. Ramakrishna is incapable as a leader. I never received a reply from either Ramakrishna or Ganapathi. I worked with Ganapathi for at least 25 years, but he also failed to recognise my efforts.”

The party is failing to change its strategy and tactics according to the changing circumstances in society, he said

There is no hope for the educated youths to work in the party and it was primarily depending on the cadre recruited from the Adivasis (tribals) and illiterates, he added.

Responding to a query on the recent killing of Araku MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao and former MLA Siveri Soma, “One can notice that the party did not release a statement after the attack on the politicians at Araku. It clearly shows the difference of opinion among the members about that incident.”
