Warangal: The incessant rains in Warangal Rural district of the past week have left farmers worried. Cotton and paddy crops are now close to harvesting stage and due to the heavy rains of Sunday morning and evening, several farmers have complained of partial crop damage. However, as there were no heavy winds, the crops were not affected badly.
The farmers are worried that the yield would not be on expected lines. “Usually there are no rains after Dasara. Heavy rains at this time of the year will have a negative effect on the yield of the cotton crop, said B. Mohan Rao, a farmer.
