TCS picks 511 students from Gitam university
Visakhapatnam: IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has selected 511 students from Gitam University during a campus recruitment drive here on Monday after filtering the students with newly changed recruitment process.
According to the university training and placement wing director Gurumoorthy Gangadharan, this is a positive sign for the youngsters studying final year B.Tech. The Training & Placement Cell of Gitam varsity plays a vital role of being a platform for corporates and graduates to interact for mutual benefit. Services are provided throughout the year to prepare students and help them secure placements. The number of students placed through campus placement programmes has been on the rise every year and this year also we are expecting the same, he said.
The Institute of Technology principal Prof. K. Lakshmiprasad observed that the IT industry is witnessing a change in hiring patterns with unconventional, high-value graduates with differential skills. This year the recruiters announced their dates and informed us about their area of focusing particularly more on coding skills, programming, projects and internships, he said.
