Chennai: Tamil actor Santhanam and a city-based builder allegedly exchanged blows at the latter’s office in Valasaravakkam on Monday over a sour financial deal.
The builder, Shanmugasundaram, has filed a complaint with Valasaravakkam police. The actor had got into a deal with the builder to construct a shopping complex in Kundrathur. The actor had paid an advance to Shanmugasundaram.
The final deal however didn’t go through and the actor demanded the builder return the money, police sources said.
Since the builder kept on dodging him, Santhanam and his manager, Ramesh met the builder at his office in Valasaravakkam when the incident happened. A verbal duel had soon escalated into fisticuffs, police said. Santhanam’s manager Ramesh and the builder’s friend, Amarnath, also suffered injuries in the melee.
All four were treated for their injuries at a private hospital nearby. Further investigations are on.
