Foreigners set up 30 stalls at 3-day fair in Visakhapatnam

Innovation fair attracts school and college students.

Visakhapatnam: The three-day International Innovation Fair -2017 being organised by Andhra Pradesh innovation Society in collaboration with Indian Innovators Association (IIA) in Visakhapatnam drew unique innovative works in various fields.

As many as 30 stalls were put by Indian universities, colleges and startups in total, while another 30 have been set up by foreigners.

International Federation of Inventors Associations (IFIA) president Alireza Rastegar inaugurated the International Innovation Fair-2017 on Saturday. The idea of the fair is to bring out awareness among several key groups involved in innovations and business about the global products, said Prof. V. Valli Kumari, CEO of AP Innovation Society, during the inaugural of the event.

“Like IIA in this country, there are similar organisations in other countries too. We are the access points to network with various stakeholders including governments, business partners, startups, universities, colleges and schools,” said Indian Innovators Association president A.S. Rao.

The fair witnessed the footfall of students from schools and colleges along with their faculty members. All of them were curious to know about the innovations and explanations by the participants, who are from Egypt, Germany, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, China and others.

Some of the Indian startups displayed about their products including related to e-learning courses, agriculture, science and technology.

Several students of schools and colleges have come up with their own projects, which got selected by the Department of Science and Technology, said AS Rao.
