Congress, BJP cheated the people of AP, says Pawan Kalyan

He asked people to remain calm.

Kakinada: Actor and Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan said the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the “so-called” national parties, had cheated the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing a gathering at the “Seemandhra Atma Gowrava Sabha” meant for special category status on Friday evening, Pawan Kalyan said, “The Congress backstabbed Andhra Pradesh, while the BJP stabbed it in the belly.”

Questioning the discrimination of South Indian states by northern states, he said that when a soldier from UP died, South Indians grieved. But since the formation of the Andhra state and also Andhra Pradesh merging with Telangana and later the formation of Telangana, Delhi leaders had cheated the state, he added.

He, however, said that it was not necessary for people to come out on the streets and fight for special category status. “It is for the MPs and MLAs of all parties elected from the state to fight for the cause for the people; they should not sit in New Delhi enjoying subsidised food in Parliament and Assembly; they should do their jobs. If they lack the guts, they should smear chilli powder on their bodies and raise their voice in Parliament. Otherwise, let them admit that they, including Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, are helpless. Then Jana Sena will enter the battlefield.”

He asked people to remain calm. There should be no damage to property. The struggle should be democratic. “We can show our strength and get what we want,” he said.

Pawan Kalyan made it clear that if the BJP had any respect for the Constitution and B.R. Ambedkar, the party should give special status to AP.
