Baghel Unveil Several Infra Projects For Tribals in Bastar, Surguja

Raipur: Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel unveiled several projects and announced a series of welfare measures for tribals in Bastar and Surguja divisions on the occasion of International Aborigines Day on Wednesday.

Unveiling developmental projects worth Rs 643 crore at Jagdalpur, headquarters of Bastar division comprising seven districts of Bastar, Kanker, Dantewada, Sukma, Narayanpur, Kondagaon and Bijapur, Mr Baghel announced that BED and DED schools in all the district headquarters in the region would be established.

He also declared that an indoor stadium would be established in Jagdalpur at a cost of Rs 100 crores.

He also announced his government’s plan to build residential school hostels for tribal boys and girls in Tokapal and Lohandiguda in the division.

He performed foundation laying and inauguration of 2300 works for the Bastar division on the occasion.

He released a coffee table book based on 15 caves of Kanger Valley National Park in Bastar district on the occasion.

He also laid the foundation for 269 developmental projects worth Rs 334 crore at Sitapur in Surguja in Chhattisgarh in a separate programme on the occasion.
