Telangana High Court orders survey of R&R recipients
Hyderabad: The green bench of the Telangana High Court ordered a house-to-house survey in Thoguta of Siddipet district and submit a report with details of how many agricultural laborers and artisans have been given the relief and rehabilitation package so far.
The bench comprising Justice A. Rajasheker Reddy and Justice P. Naveen Rao gave the directions on complaints by project affected families from various villages.
The bench said it wanted to understand the R&R package as per the Right to Fair Com-pensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabil-itation, and Resettlement (Telangana Amendment) Act.
Counsels K.S Murthy, Ch. Ravi Kumar, and B. Rachana Reddy appearing for the petitioners said the government was trying to evade providing the R&R package to the oustees and most applications submitted by artisans and affected families had been rejected.
