Award validates my belief system, work: Keerthy Suresh
Hyderabad: Blank and clueless. Those were the first emotions of actress Keerthy Suresh when she heard that she had won Best Actress at the National Award for Mahanati. It took her a few seconds to come back to reality, she said.
“I just couldn’t believe it! It took some time for the fact to sink in that I have won a national award,” Keerthy said. Her mobile has been ringing incessantly. “I think this is the first time I have had to answer hundreds of calls, and it’s overwhelming. I would like to dedicate this award to my parents who stood behind me at all times,” she said. She was in Kerala with her parents when she heard the news. “The best part of these joyous moments is that my parents are beside me, and several friends and relatives are thronging my house. I feel humble and gratified,” she said.
She says the award means a lot to her and has definitely made her more responsible. “After doing Mahanati, I have become very choosy and have been trying to strike a balance between doing commercials and performance-based films. This award is like a validation of my hard work and belief system,” she said.
