MNC staffer accused of filming female workers

The accused had taken videos from December 1, 2018 to March 16 this year.

BENGALURU: Police have registered a case against Akash Shukla, an employee of Goldman Sachs, on charges of taking obscene videos of his female colleagues on a mobile phone.

According to JB Nagar police, the Vice President of the company Deepika Banerjee has lodged a complaint in this regard. The accused had taken videos from December 1, 2018 to March 16 this year.

The accused was caught red-handed in the office while taking the videos, following which the company conducted an internal inquiry and lodged a police complaint. The accused had confessed to the crime during the internal inquiry. His mobile phone and laptop has been seized. The police are investigating the case under IPC sections 354 (D), 354. IPC 354 is assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty and can invite imprisonment of up to two years with fine. IPC 354 (D) details that, any man who follows a woman and contacts, or attempts to contact such person to foster personal interaction repeatedly despite a clear indication of disinterest by such woman or monitors the use by a woman of the internet, email or any other form if electronic communication.

Shukla hails from Uttar Pradesh and was working as a chartered accountant in the company.

He used to download images to his laptop.
