Thiruvananthapuram: Inspector-general M.R. Ajithkumar will be the new city police commissioner of the capital city.
An order was issued by the goverment on Friday replacing IG Dinendra Kashyap with Mr Ajithkumar.
Mr Kashyap has been relieved on Central deputation to join National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO) in New Delhi as a Senior Analyst. Mr Kashyap wass the first Commissioner of the capital with the rank of IG. This wasl after the government upgraded the city police district as a Commissionerate.
Mr Ajithkumar was serving as the IG South Zone. IG Balram Kumar Upadhyay has been apointed IG, South Zone.
Meanwhile Harshita Attalluri and husband Ch. Nagaraju, who rejoined the state cadre coming back from Central deputation has been posted as the Deputy Inspector General of Police of Crimes and Police Headquarters respectively. Divya V Gopinath, who is on deputation from Karnataka is posted as SP, Information, Communication and Technology.
