Hyderabad: Rachakonda police busts fake firm, nabs owner
Hyderabad: A Bihar native who was running a fake firm claiming to advise stock market investors and cheated a city resident was arrested along with his accomplice by the Rachakonda cyber crime police. The police recovered computer peripherals and incriminating documents and produced the accused, Rahul Kumar, 27, and his associate, B. Anantha Surya Chaitanya, 26, of Bengaluru, in court.
According to the cyber crime police, about two months ago, one Sravan Chittireedy, an employee from Uppal, received phone calls and emails from three persons who claimed to be employees of National Stock Research Company located at Bengaluru. They told him that they do trading analysis and could advise him on investments to get 11-fold returns within 28 days.
Believing them, Sravan transferred Rs 1,18,116 into the Paytm account numbers provided to him. He waited for a month but did not receive any response. Sravan then went to the police.
Police found that Rahul Kumar was running the firm without any registration.
