TRS creating obstacles in Rahul Gandhi's visit, alleges Uttam Kumar Reddy

The TPCC Chief said that the student community had invited the AICC president Rahul Gandhi to Osmania University.

Hyderabad: TPCC Chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday alleged that the TRS government was playing a drama and hatching a conspiracy to obstruct AICC President Rahul Gandhi’s Hyderabad tour. Speaking to media on Thursday, he said that the state government had denied accommodation to Rahul Gandhi at Haritha Plaza and brought pressure on the owners of the Hockey Ground at Nampally where Rahul’s meeting with Muslims was proposed, not to give permission. He also said that the OU Vice Chancellor did not give permission to hold a meeting at Arts College.

The TPCC President telephoned TS Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi and expressed his displeasure over Haritha Plaza’s refusal to give accommodation to Rahul during his visit to Hyderabad. Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy questioned the Chief Secretary for not following protocol for Mr Gandhi. He told the Chief Secretary that the TRS would not be in power forever. Reacting to this, the Chief Secretary told Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy that he would reply after getting complete information.

The TPCC Chief said that the student community had invited the AICC president Rahul Gandhi to Osmania University. He said that Rahul was not coming to OU for political purposes. He alleged that the TRS leaders were not able to go to OU and that was why they (TRS) were conspiring against Mr Gandhi’s OU visit.

The TPCC Chief alleged that Osmania VC was delaying his decision on granting permission for the meeting and said that they were waiting for communication from him in this regard. He alleged that the TRS was bringing pressure on the private college management at Sherilingampally not to give permission to hold Rahul’s meeting.
