Hyderabad: Hostels shortage troubles women

However, both the hostels managed by the charitable organisations were shut down over a period of time leaving them in a dilemma.

Hyderabad: Hostels for minority women studying in the city have all but gone. Two private persons had set up hostels in the city for women studying in colleges and collected nominal charges for them. However, both the hostels managed by the charitable organisations were shut down over a period of time leaving them in a dilemma.

Those studying in government institutions somehow managed to get hostel facility but what about those studying in private institutions and enrolling for courses offered by the minority study circle in the city, asked Syed Nausad, a parent from Karimnagar.

Many people have suggested that the open land in the Haj House complex which the authorities want to lease out should be used to construct a women’s hostel or the under construction Anees-ul-Ghurba orphanage building should also be used for the purpose.
