Dry spell in Telangana to continue

This dry weather will prevail over Telangana.

Hyderabad: Northern Telangana will receive light scattered rainfall for the next 24 hours. However, the southern districts in the state, including capital city Hyderabad, will undergo a dry spell with patchy rain at times.

There is no heavy rainfall warning up to August 15th. Though the southwest monsoons have turned normal over the state, currently there is no weather system that can boost it. This dry weather will prevail over Telangana.

On Thursday light to moderate rainfall occurred over the northern districts like Adilabad, Kumaram bheem , Nirmal, Jagital, Mancherial , Peddapalle , Nizamabad , Bhupalpally and Karim nagar. However districts in the south like Mahabub nagar, Wanaparthy, Hyderabad and Nalgonda witnessed scattered rain at irregular intervals.

A weather observer, Skymet Vice President, for Meteorology and Climate Change Mr Mahesh Palawat explained “We expect scattered light rain may occur for another 24 hours over northern districts while south parts from Hyderabad onwards will remain mainly dry. The depression which was over Odisha and was boosting the currents leading to rainfall in TS has degenerated into well mark low-pressure area and is now prevailing over central parts of Madhya Pradesh. The weather system has moved away from central India towards Madhya Pradesh. Therefore the rains over TS will reduce.”

For the next 24 hours. light to moderate rainfall is likely in north Telangana.
