Black badge protest by Telangana doctors on stipend

Doctors have threatened to go on strike if there is no action taken on this issue.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Junior Doctor’s Association has demanded the government to increase their stipend. They wore black badges to mark their protest in hospitals and colleges on Thursday.

The junior doctors get a stipend of about Rs 12,000 to Rs 27,000 only while their peers in other states are getting Rs18,000 to Rs 50,000 per month.

The doctors stated that it is high time there is an increase in stipend and that have asked the government for it.

Doctors have threatened to go on strike if there is no action taken on this issue.
