Kidnap bid: BS Yeddyurappa's assistant summoned
Bengaluru: The police investigating the kidnapping attempt of BJP leader K. S. Eshwarappa’s personal assistant Vinay have issued a summon notice to N.R. Santosh the personal assistant of BJP state president B.S. Yeddyurappa the prime suspect in the case.
Santosh has been asked to appear before ACP A.R. Badiger, the investigating officer, on Thursday for the investigation. Earlier on July 17, the Mahalakshmi Layout police had issued a similar notice to Santosh, but he did not appear before the police, following which a lookout notice was issued.
On August 5, the 62nd Sessions court had granted him an anticipatory bail on condition that he should cooperate with the investigating officer.
The police have identified Santosh as the prime suspect in the kidnapping attempt of Vinay on May 11. All the arrested suspects Prashanth, Kishore, Selvam, Aiyappa and Aravind and co-accused Rajendra Urs the city BJP Yuva Morcha general secretary who secured bail recently, have named Santosh during interrogation. The kidnap attempt was allegedly planned to snatch a ‘CD’ from Vinay, which had some crucial videos, and carried out on the instructions of Santosh.
