Jagan Mohan Reddy calls Nandyal a major battle

He called Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu a 'liar' and asked people to dethrone him.

KURNOOL: In a scathing attack, YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday called Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu a “liar” and asked people to dethrone him. “Let Nandyal play the trigger shot to dethrone Naidu,” he roared at a road show held at Rythunagar and Kanala, ahead of the byelection to the Nandyal Assembly constituency later this month. Holding the party symbol, a fan, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy appealed to people to trust the efficacy of fan to “breeze through problems” and be “the agents of change” in the “fight against adharma.”

Claiming to be a speaker of truth, the YSRC president said he would fulfil his promises if he were to become the chief minister of the state. His 'Navaratnalu’ scheme was designed to bring happiness to every household irrespective of caste, creed and community. The YSRC chief said he had no money, no media power and nothing whatsoever except the love and support of people who had benefited from the policies of his late father, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.

He said Mr Naidu was “cursed by a muni” that if he were to utter a truth, his head would be broken into a thousand pieces. Therefore, he said, Mr Naidu was overseeing “the rule of falsehood that is steeped in unfulfilled promises to public.” He said none of Mr Naidu’s promises made during the 2014 election campaign like loan waivers to farmers, gold loans, jobs to youth, and financial assistance to DWACRA groups had been fulfilled.

He sought support of the people to elect Mr Shilpa Mohan Reddy and declare to the world that righteousness would prevail and conquer evil designs of the Telugu Desam. He asked the people not to be swayed by false promises of the Telugu Desam, and remember the fan symbol to breeze through the maze of difficulties and elect Mr Mohan Reddy. Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy launched his campaign for the bypoll amid cheers from his followers comprising mostly youth and farmers. Rythunagar is a village developed by settlers from Guntur district who benefited from the farmer-friendly policies of Dr Rajasekhar Reddy.

The people responded whenever Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy asked their responses against the “demonic rule” in AP. The YSRC chief, who visited Nandyal for a second time in less than a week, held road shows at Rythunagar, Kanala, Baba Nagar, Gospadu and Kottala.
