Hyderabad: Hyderabad traffic police will concentrate more on driver safety related violations like no-helmet, no-seat-belt, and signal jumping instead of vehicle related issues to enforce the penalty point system.
Senior traffic officials said that offenders will not lose penalty points for the traffic violation like wrong parking, pollution and insurance violations.
Traffic police officials also said that there will be no penalty points for violations recorded in cameras; instead penalty points will be added only when spot challans are issued to offenders.
Senior traffic cops clarified on Wednesday, after doubts were raised on social media regarding the system.
Dr V. Ravinder joint commissioner of traffic said, “We have decided to concentrate on violations which are life threatening for citizens. Signal jumping, speaking on cell phones while driving, triple riding, over-speeding, driving without helmet will lose points.”
