Gurgaon: Another incident of stalking has come to the fore in Haryana, this time in Gurgaon city, where a woman riding home from office was allegedly chased by two men in a car on Monday night.
The incident happened just three days after an IAS officer’s daughter accused Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala’s son Vikas and his friend of chasing her late on Friday night in Chandigarh when she was heading home.
According to a report in NDTV, the woman in Gurugram alleged that the men started following her soon after she left her office on a scooter around midnight. They followed her for 3 kms and also shouted at her to stop, she alleged.
She filed a police complaint next morning at police commissioner Sandeep Khirwar's office. The woman could only give the first part of the car registration number – "HR-57" – to the police.
Police have registered a case of stalking and said they are solely dependent on visual recording if the incident was captured in CCTVs, as the victim could not provide a complete car registration number.
Meanwhile, Chandigarh Police are investigating the Chandigarh stalking case. 29-year-old Varnika Kundu had alleged that Vikas Barala and his friend Ashish Kumar chased her and Vikas even tried to open her car door.
Police have arrested Vikas and Ashish and booked them on attempt to abduction charges.
