Thodupuzha Sessions Court dumps Joice clean chit report

The police submitted that they were closing the investigation as there was no evidence against Mr George and his family.

Kottayam: The Thodupuzha Sessions Court on Tuesday rejected the police report exonerating former Idukki MP Joice George in the Kottakamboor land grab case and ordered a detailed investigation.

The police submitted that they were closing the investigation as there was no evidence against Mr George and his family.

The report of the former Munnar DySP also says that there are no differences in the fingerprints in the register at the Devikulam Sub-Registrar office, photocopies of the Mukthyar and samples of former landowners sent for examination at the Fingerprint Bureau, Thiruvananthapuram.

Former Devikulam sub-collector V.R. Premkumar had in 2017 cancelled the title of 28 acres of land owned by the MP and his family after he found encroachment of government land using fake title deeds in the Vattavada panchayath near Munnar in Idukki district.
