Mudragada writes to Jagan seeking reservations for Kapus
KAKINADA: Kapunadu leader Mudragada Padmanabham appealed to Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to include Kapus in BC list and issue instructions to all officials concerned to implement reservations for Kapus in educational institutions and for various employment opportunities.
Mr Padmanabhan wrote a letter to the Chief Minister on Tuesday stating that he would like to inform Mr Reddy that Kapus cast their votes in favour of YSRC, Taking this fact into consideration, the Chief Minister should implement reservations to them.
Mr Padmanabhan said that the former Chief Minister N. Chanrdrababu Naidu had let the Kapus down by failing to fulfil his poll promises of 2014 that included the issue of Kapus' in the BC list. However, at the last minute, he availed 10 per cent of EWS reservations provided by the Union Government, out of which 5 per cent reservations have been allocated to Kapu community.
But the Tahasildars said that they have not received any instructions from the government for issuing the certificates concerned to Kapus. He said that the former Chief Minister insulted, humiliated and harassed the Kapu community as the people asked him to implement the reservations.
At last, he acted for including Kapus in BC list, but in implementation, his efforts were failed. ``When the community think of to bring down demon's rule before 2019 elections, the Kapus chose Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy for sorting out their problems.
The Kapus kept aside another party (Jana Sena), though the party leader belong to Kapu community and voted to YSRC by keeping lot of hopes on Mr Jagan'' said Mudragada. He said that if Mr Jagan takes a decision in an urgent manner, it would make lot of help to the students of Kapu community.
