Hyderabad: Drive held to collect details of foreigners

The police had been asked by the IB to trace 92 foreigners staying at Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: Intelligence Bureau officials and the officers from Foreigners Regional Registration Office conducted a drive on Wednesday to collect details of foreigners living in the city, which were not available with the agencies.

The police had been asked by the IB to trace 92 foreigners staying at Hyderabad whose details including their updated photographs, residential address and fingerprints were not available with the Central agencies.

On Wednesday, the police managed to find 65 foreign nationals and gathered them at a function hall located under the Asifnagar police station limits and the formalities were finished.

A police official from the city, unwilling to be quoted, said: “It was part of a routine exercise. The officials of FRRO and IB were present and the local police gave assistance for the drive.”
