Officers skipping session will face action: Basavaraj Horatti
Bengaluru: Taking serious note of the absence of ministers and officers from the Legislative Council on Monday, protem Chairman Basavaraj Horatti warned that stringent action will be taken against officers if they henceforth skip the session. Reading out the list of ministers and officers who are supposed to be present in the Council, Mr Horatti noticed that a few ministers and officers had skipped the Council proceedings without informing the Chair.
Annoyed over the absence of the officers, he instructed floor leader Dr Jayamala to ensure the presence of the officers in the Council. If they failed to attend Council duty, necessary action will be taken against them, he warned. "You (floor leader) must discuss this with the chief secretary and ensure the presence of the officers. It should not happen from Tuesday. Otherwise I may have to initiate action against the errant officials", he remarked. Members cutting across party lines, demanded action against the officials who skip duty.
