BJP cadres enthused over Shah's pep talk, eagerly await Modi's visit: KTR
Chennai: The rank and file of the Tamil Nadu BJP are enthused over the deliberations with party president Amit Shah on Monday and are eagerly expecting the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address a conclave of booth-level workers in October, BJP state secretary K. T. Raghavan has said.
“Our party chief has announced that the Prime Minister would address a conference of over 1.25 lakh booth-level functionaries in October. We will push our agenda for TN,” he said. Over 15,000 members of the Sakthi and Maha Sakthi Kendras of the BJP attended today’s meeting on the city outskirts. This was 90 per cent attendance, which is more than what we expected,” he said.
While a Sakthi Kendra in-charge is vested with the responsibility of overseeing the party work of five booth level functionaries, a Maha Sakthi Kendra office-bearer oversees five Sakthi Kendra functionaries.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle on Monday Mr. Raghavan said on the future plans, “we are forming our own alliance for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls… during the morning meeting at VGP golden beach resort a presentation was given about the political situation.”
Mr. Shah also attended a meeting of the party’s parliament incharge for all the 39 Lok Sabha seats and he advised the state unit to focus on election related work fixing of booth committee, etc. He later addressed the Sakthi Kendra and Maha Sakthi Kendra meetings.
To a question Mr. Raghavan replied, “we have a clear picture on alliance. It will be with corruption-free parties.”
