Local boy' heads Telangana command

The 1981 batch officer has served in operational and instructional areas in command and staff appointments.

Hyderabad: Major General N. Srinivas Rao on Sunday took over as General Officer Commanding of the Telangana and Andhra Sub Area. Maj. Gen. Rao took over the command from Maj. Gen. Sharabh Pachory at the TASA headquarters in Secunderabad.

The 1981 batch officer has served in operational and instructional areas in command and staff appointments.

In his previous tenure as Commandant, NCC Officers Training Academy, Kamptee, Nagpur, he improved the quality of training and living conditions of more than 550 trainee teachers of NCC and permanent instructional staff of the three services deputed to the NCC.

Maj. Gen. Rao, an NDA graduate, has local roots: He was a student of Wesley High School in Medak and Little Flower High School and Junior College respectively.

His wife Anuradha Rao involved in welfare and empowerment of families of service personnel.
