BJP leader G Kishan Reddy urge Telangana government for regulation of liquor
Hyderabad: BJP Legislature Party leader G. Kishan Reddy on Sunday urged the state government to take stringent action against drunk drivers besides taking up regulation on availability of liquor.
He was participating in a function organised in memory of Ramya, Rajesh and Madhusudana Rao who were killed in an accident that was caused by drunk driving by Sraveel at Panjagutta.
Mr Kishan Reddy said the state government in order to earn money had had allowed several shops and bars which were now running without following the timings. This was resulting in consumption of large quantities of alcohol.
He said when the Supreme Court passed orders regulating the setting up of liquor shops along highways, the government tried to subvert the law and found alternatives to continue the liquor trade with an eye on the revenue He said the government must regulate the trade to ensure that liquor consumption reduces.
