Signed without seeing it: Karnataka DySP MK Ganapati's dad
Mysuru: The suicide of DySP Madapanda Kushalappa Ganapathi is set to embarrass Chief Minister Siddaramaiah further as accusations fly of a police cover-up, after his father, Mr Kushalappa denied telling the police his son was depressed due to differences with his wife as mentioned in the complaint, and accused police of writing the complaint on which he had signed even as the inquest or muhazar of the death was in progress.
"I am not aware that my son and daughter- in- law had any problems at all,"
he asserted. Mr Ganapathi's brother, Sathish Machaiah, said he and his father had told the police they would not give a written complaint and would only orally narrate the sequence of events.
"We asked the police to write the complaint themselves as anything my father said could have aggravated the situation. We were not aware that the couple had any problems. Though we trust CID, the truth could get twisted after it submits its report. So we appeal to CM Siddaramaiah to hand over the case to CBI,” he said. Another brother, DySP Thammaiah said his brother was depressed and was under treatment.
