Hyderabad: The Centre has sought a report from Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi offering support to suspected ISIS terrorists caught by the NIA.
“What is the state government’s stand on Owaisi’s statement? What is the stand of the TRS towards the MIM? Will the government support Mr Owaisi’s statement defending legal aid to suspected terrorists,” BJPLP leader Kishan Reddy asked.
Mr Kishan Reddy said the BJP delegation had submitted a detailed memorandum to the Union home minister seeking stringent action against Mr Owaisi.
“There is a need to get a report from the state government and the Governor. There is a need to cancel his (Mr Owaisi’s) Parliament membership. There is a need to deal with supporters of terrorists with an iron hand by the Centre,” Mr Kishan Reddy said.
Besides Mr Kishan Reddy, senior BJP leaders and legislators including Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, N.V.S.S. Prabhakar, Baddam Balreddy and others were among the delegation.
