Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s indefinite fast enters second day
Hyderabad: Telangana state Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s fast unto death against the action of the Assembly Speaker on the merger of 12 Congress MLAs with the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti, entered its second day on Sunday.
The CLP leader started the fast on Saturday at Dharna Chowk near Indira Park to put pressure on Assembly Speaker P. Srinivas Reddy to disqualify the 12 MLAs who defected to the TRS.
On the second day, several Congress leaders, including Mr K. Rajagopal Reddy, Mr T. Jeevan Reddy Mr D. Sridhar Babu, Mr A. Revanth Reddy, Mr K. Jaya Prakash Reddy, Mr Ponnam Prabhakar, Mr Addanki Dayakar, Mr Vamshichand Reddy, MRPS leader Manda Krishna Madiga, Inti Party founder C. Sudhakar and Mr Professor Kancha Ilaiah visited Dharna Chowk and expressed solidarity with the CLP leader.
Addressing the leaders, Mr Vikramarka termed TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and working president K.T. Rama Rao as political terrorists. He alleged that they did not have any understanding of the laws and history of this country and had “murdered” democracy in the state.
Doctors who examined the CLP leader said that his blood sugar levels are falling and thare was variationin his blood pressure.
Police had given permission only for a 36 hour fast. Since the CLP leader has changed it into an indefinite fast, police is likely to step into the camp after midnight to stop the stir.
